Welcome to Cameron McGill…MMLSC Ski coach
Cameron has been a surf ski and kayak paddler for more than 30 years, winning multiple State and National titles. Cameron has been involved in Lifesaving for many years, driven as an athlete, and even more recognised for his coaching, where he coached paddlers that won the Australian Junior Marathon Title 4 years in a row from 2008 to 2011. He also had multiple paddlers in National Teams from 2007 to 2013 and again in 2018. In addition to his coaching he was the Team Manger for the Australian Marathon Canoe Team in 2009, then again in 2012 and 2013. Since then, he has changed disciplines and moved into triathlon, beginning small with sprint races and building to a full Ironman (consisting of a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and a 42.2km run). After qualifying for the World Championships in 2020, he was finally able to race at the iconic Hawai’i Ironman in October this year following Covid cancellations in the last 2 years.
Cameron is now keen to support the ski program at MMLSC, with coaching initially from 6pm monday nights starting on 7th November.
